Užití modelu reprezentující, jak jsou informační modely využívány pro nalezení přechodu od výstupů Fáze výstavby k požadavkům Fáze provozu. Předávka a uvedení do provozu zahrnuje předložení dokumentů (například manuály, certifikáty a záruční listy) a realizaci aktivit (například testování, provozní školení) před tím, než je aktivum (nebo jeho část) převedena od stavitele/dodavatele na jeho vlastníka/provozovatele.
