German standards (DIN)

German DIN standards (Deutsche Industrie-Norm) are published by the Deutsches Institut für Normung e. V., i.e., the German Institute for Standardization. Its members include industrial companies, their associations, and other legal entities that have an interest
in standardization and support DIN through their membership fees. Standards are developed through negotiations within interest groups and are valid nationwide, as guaranteed by an agreement between DIN and the federal government.
