ISO International Standards
ISO stands for the International Organization for Standardization. It is responsible for developing international ISO standards and other types of documents (Technical Specifications – TS, Technical Reports – TR, Publicly Available Specifications – PAS, Technical Trends Agreements – TTA, Industry Working Agreement – IWA, ISO Guidelines, etc.) in all areas of standardization except for electrical engineering.
ISO members are national standards organizations that ensure a unified position for their respective countries on submitted documents and financially support ISO’s activities. Technical work is carried out by technical committees (ISO/TC), which consist of subcommittees (SC) and working groups (WG). Participation in the work of technical committees is possible as active members (P-members – participating members), who are required to attend meetings and vote
on documents, or as observers (O-members – observer members), who receive working documents and have the right, but not the obligation, to attend meetings and vote.
